Claim Director-Environmental

Chubb is seeking a Claim Director on the Environmental Claims team. The Environmental team is part of Chubb Environmental Claims and provides specialized claim handling of first-party and third-party voluntary pollution claims.

• Developing and executing claim resolution strategies
• Recognizing significant potential exposures on claims and preparing appropriate alerts
• Providing exceptional service to internal and external business partners
• Analyzing and identifying coverage issues and preparing comprehensive coverage letters
• Directing and closely monitoring cases with financial impact from inception through trial/resolution
• Setting reserves within authority or making claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to management
• Traveling to conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as necessary

• In-depth knowledge of environmental and casualty
• 2-5 years of direct claims handling experience
• Environmental specialists strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on different subjects
• Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills
• Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analysis of complex issues
• Demonstrated strong relational skills, particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations
